Bonus! Book Proposal Template
You can use the Easy-Schmeasy Book Proposal template initially as the foundation for your business plan. Later, if you want to pursue a traditional publisher, you can use it to produce a formal book proposal for fiction or nonfiction. If you are a novelist, you can alter it based on what you learned in the course. To dowload the template, click on the image, then save the PDF to your computer, or click here. (This is a Microsoft Word document with Track Changes used to input directions; you will need to delete the cover page and the directions/comments as well as any other unnecessary text to create your proposal.)

Bonus! Query Letter Samples
A template query letter created by author Jonathan Maberry based on his successful queries.
Jonathan Maberry’s “Template” Query
The actual query letter for Nina Amir’s How to Blog a Book sent by an agent to the Writer’s Digest Books acquisitions editor. This letter received a request to see the proposal. Nina then received a book contract. (She later received a contract for the second book mentioned in the query, but that query was revised and resent prior to that happening; that book became The Author Training Manual.)
