Do you feel you are as happy as you can be right now? I know I don’t. But what if you could be phenomenally happy? What if tomorrow you woke up and your level of happiness had skyrocketed? Wouldn’t that be awesome?
Of course it would.
What it Takes to Become Happy
But how would that happen? The answer to that questions provides the key to your transformation.
Take a moment to imagine what it would take for you to feel really, really happy. What would you do every day? How would you spend your time? Who would you spend it with?
Would you:
- meditate
- exercise
- take time to pursue your hobbies
- spend time connecting with family
- spend time connecting with friends
- pursue your interests
- express yourself creatively
- learn something new
Visualize a day where your happiness level is off the charts—a perfect day that makes you feel truly joyous.
Now, what stops you from creating that day? Are there any true obstacles that prevent you from adding in some of these elements?
Happiness is Within Your Power
Someone recently had me go through a similar exercise. What I realized was that happiness is totally within my power.
I’m a fairly happy person, but I know I could be much, much happier. And when I visualized a happy day, I realized most of what would make me happy was within my reach.
It wasn’t necessarily about having more money. It was about doing things I loved and even reframing my “work” into creative expression and pursing my passions and interests. It was about finding or making time for friends and family and for my hobbies. It was about expressing myself.
I can do that any time I choose.
It’s true that sometimes I feel I don’t have time. Sometimes money can prove an issues. But there always ways to overcome challenges, to make them into opportunities.
And isn’t your happiness worth it? I know mine is.
