I know you have a dream—or more than one dream. Are you just dreaming about your dream or are you living your dream?
Too few people in the world don’t take action on their dreams. They don’t make them realities.
On the other hand, there are those who pursue their dreams. They take action on their dreams and make them part of their daily lives. They realize their dreams. Their dreams come true. They live their dreams.
You could be one of these people.
Think about dancers, athletes, artists, authors, and even adrenaline junkies. Each time they take the stage, participate in a sporting event, create a new work, or dare to do something new and exciting, they live their dreams. That makes their lives exciting, fulfilling, and fun.
Wouldn’t you like to live your dream? How would doing so change your life?
I live my dream daily. I knew I wanted to become a writer from the time I was in elementary or middle school. I dreamed of becoming an author. I began writing professionally—obtaining clips and bylines—in high school. I went to college and received a degree in magazine journalism. I worked as a writer and an editor in a variety of professional capacities. Now, I walk into my office each morning and write. I visit bookstores and see my books on the shelves, and I receive income in the form of royalty checks for copies of my books that have sold.
My son knew he wanted to become a professional dancer from the time he was three years old. That was his dream. From the age of three until he was 18, he trained to become a professional dancer. He took action to make his dream a reality. Now dancing is his career and his job. He’s a demi-soloist for one the the best ballet companies in Europe. Each day that he goes to work or on the evening when he takes the stage, he lives his dream.
What do you lose by never taking action to move toward the realization of your dream?
Are you living your dream? If so, tell me about it in a comment below. If you aren’t living our dream, when and how will you begin doing so?
