The Write Your Transformational Book Challenge 2018
Week Eight
When all else fails and you’re feeling stuck, unable to get inspired or to find your creative groove, move. Physicality is a writer’s friend, but it’s the most ignored and forgotten companion of all.
Remember everything is energy. When you sit for hours at a time, your energy gets stagnant. It becomes still, slow and sometimes comes to a halt. You may not be able to get the words to flow because your energy isn’t coursing through your body or mind.
If you are having trouble writing, get up from your desk and do something physical even for just 10 minutes. Do yoga, dance, go for a walk, pull some weeds in your garden, take a bike ride, complete a set of sit ups or leg lunges . . . anything at all that gets your blood coursing through your blood stream.
You also may find chanting effective. Sound is energy as well, and it vibrates through your body. Try chanting and drumming at the same time. This adds a physical aspect to the activity and an extra vibration. There are Celtic chants, Jewish chants, Hindu chants, Buddhist chants, and Christian chants . . . chants from almost any tradition you can think of. Make up one of your own that includes your favorite or most potent affirmations! You can even use these as you walk, run or cycle! Be creative.
Caution: Don’t use movement or energy exercises as a way to procrastinate!
