Have you ever wondered, “Is now the right time to create what I want?” Maybe you want to launch a business, change jobs, write a book, get a divorce, have a child, or buy a house. How do you know when to begin going for your dream?
That question can keep you stuck for days, weeks, months, or even years. You tell yourself you’ll act on that idea or take steps toward your goal when the kids are grown, you have more money, you’ve learned more, your schedule opens up, or inspiration strikes. But when that time comes, you still feel uncertain whether the time is right…or some new circumstance makes you believe you must wait longer.
Here’s the truth: Now is always the best time to create what matters to you.
Conditions will never be perfect. Waiting for the ideal situation is like saying “never.”
If you’re inspired to create something, you feel inspired because now is the time to act on that feeling. This moment in time is the right one to bring your creation into the world or realize your desire.
So, how can you develop the certainty that the time is right to create what you desire? You already know intellectually the answer is always now, but let’s explore five ways to develop the confidence and clarity that allows you to take action and stop waiting.
1. See Your Desire as a Sign
Most people think they need external confirmation before taking action to create what they want—a sign from the universe, a mentor’s encouragement, a sudden gap in the schedule, a certain number in the bank account. However, the fact that you want to create something is the sign.
Abraham-Hicks calls the wanting a “rocket of desire.” You can feed the rocket enough fuel to fly high by taking action. Or you can let the initial fuel (inspiration and desire) burn out and keep it grounded.
Desire, like inspiration, is your soul’s way of whispering, This matters. Pay attention. Do this! Take action—it’s for your highest good.
Feeling lit up by an idea or goal is not necessarily a random passing whim. That desire is guidance. And the longer you wait to act on it, the harder it becomes to hear the inner voice—your soul—sending spiritual messages. As time passes, the desire fades. Eventually, the messages don’t come as often either.
The moment you recognize your desire, you can begin. You don’t need a perfect plan or more of anything; you only need trust in your spiritual guidance and a willingness to act upon it.
2. Realize You Are Ready
Readiness is not a prerequisite to taking the first steps to create what you desire. You become ready as a result of action.
Take action now, and you demonstrate your readiness.
Every painter learns to paint by painting. Every author learns to write by writing. Every entrepreneur learns to run a business by running one. Every parent learns to parent through the experience of having a child.
You don’t need another certificate, someone’s approval, or another course to give you permission to begin creating what you desire. By doing the thing—not waiting for the right time to do it—you gain the skills, confidence, and momentum to create your desire.
Plus, allowing yourself to take imperfect action gives you permission to let now be the right time.
3. Know Now is Always the Best Time
You may understand that now is always the best time, but still find it challenging to stop waiting to create your desire. Yet, there are three powerful reasons why “now” wins over “later” every single time—and helps you take action.
- Create Momentum
Once you do something—even something small, you create forward movement. That movement fuels motivation, and motivation fuels more movement. Later keeps you stuck, but now gets you unstuck. - Conditions will never be perfect
You will always face challenges, distractions, and reasons to delay. If you can learn to create no matter what—or despite circumstances, you’ll be unstoppable. - Opportunities are time-sensitive
Someone is waiting for what you’re about to create. The people who need your book, your course, your song, or your business don’t need it in five years; they need it now. Don’t keep them waiting. And don’t keep yourself waiting; tomorrow is not guaranteed, but now is. Create what you desire in this moment so you can enjoy it.
Keep these advantages in mind, and you are likely to “know”—not just understand—that the time to create what you desire is, indeed, right now.
4. Utilize the Power of Support
While the answer to “When?” is always “Now,” that doesn’t mean you have to create alone—especially if you feel uncertain or overwhelmed. In fact, many people don’t take action when they feel inspired because they don’t want to go it alone. They wait for support or help, while their desire fades and vision disappears.
To prevent that from happening, you need:
- Accountability – Someone (or a group) to keep you moving when fear or procrastination creeps in.
- Encouragement – People to act as your cheerleaders and who believe in your vision even on the days you don’t.
- Guidance – A mentor who can help you navigate roadblocks, stay aligned with your purpose, and maintain a clear vision of what you are creating.
I know the power of supported creation efforts. That’s why I created the Inspired Creator Community. The program offers group coaching and a cohort of like-minded people. Together, these two aspects of the program provide support as members learn to trust their guidance, take action, and create what they desire.
People join the Inspired Creator Community because they want to stop waiting—they’ve waited too long already—and start creating what truly matters to them. They want to become creators—inspired creators.

The Cost of Waiting
Sometimes it helps to flip the question on its head. Instead of asking, “Is now the right time to start?” ask, “What will it cost me if I don’t start now?”
What’s the cost of not writing the book you’ve been dreaming about for years? What’s the cost of not launching the business idea that excites you every time you think about it? What’s the cost of not sharing your story, your wisdom, your gift with the world?
And what’s the cost of staying in a job that doesn’t value you? What’s the price of remaining in a relationship that doesn’t make you happy? And what’s the cost of remaining stuck in your current circumstances?
The costs of waiting are emotional and spiritual, too. Every day you delay creating what you desire, you risk losing faith and trust in yourself and your ability to create. You tell yourself you are not a creator, and eventually you come to believe it. That’s when you stop trying to create what you desire…ever.
Decide Once
When you choose to create what you desire now, you never have to decide to start creating it again. You only have to make the decision to begin once.
Once you choose to create what you desire—and commit to that decision, everything else becomes a matter of follow-through.
In the Inspired Creator Community, we focus on making those decisions stick—turning your creative dreams into real, tangible outcomes. How? By helping you shift your identity and become a creator—an Inspired Creator.
Inspired Creators know they can create what matters to them. And they follow spiritual guidance…trusts it enough to act on their desire. They need only remind themselves that they are creators to remain committed to creating their desires. Then, they have no need to ask themselves “if” they will create or “when” they will create; their mindset and habits keep them creating.
Be Someone Who Starts and Creates
You might be thinking, “But I don’t have everything I need yet. I need to have more time, money, experience, permission, or skill before I can create what I desire.”
That’s backward thinking. You don’t need to have anything to begin creating your desire. You need only be the type of person who can create what you desire.
Really, the most important question you can ask is “Who do I need to be to start creating what I desire right now?” What type of person would be able to create it…or has already achieved your goal or realized your dream. Maybe someone committed, courageous, tenacious, or guided, for instance? Be that person. Say “I am ____.”
Better yet, be a creator. Take on that identity. “I am a creator.”
Or be an Inspired Creator, who receives and acts on spiritual guidance (desires and inspiration) quickly.
Then, if you need to also be a writer, entrepreneur, painter, leader, director, CEO, or some other identity, choose to be that type of person. Be someone with the mindset and habits that allow you to create what you desire. Be someone who has all they need already to create what they want.
Change Your Identity
Do that—change your identity, and you automatically have what you need to start in this very moment.
You don’t need all the resources, skills, or answers to begin. You just need to be someone who starts and creates.
Start the chapter. Outline the program. Sketch the painting. Apply for the job. Put an offer in on the house. Record the podcast intro. Sign up for the support that will make it easier.
When you take on the identity of someone who has what they need to create what you desire, you stop waiting to have something before you can create. Instead, you are someone who creates, and that is what you do.
Your Sign
If you’ve been waiting for a sign that it’s time to create what you’ve been dreaming about, this is it.

Stop Waiting
Desire is a spiritual message from your soul. When you understand that, you can pay attention to the signs from your soul. That’s when you’ll know when to create what you desire. You begin the moment you receive or become aware of the sign.
Remember: waiting serves no one, least of all you. So, stop waiting.
Now is the time to create what you desire.
If you’re ready to create what matters most to you, I invite you to join the Inspired Creator Community. Together, we’ll transform you into a creator who follows your desires and turns your dream into reality.
