You can update your mind just like your computer or phone apps. Your brain is a computer that runs every aspect of your body and mind—the way you think, feel, move, and behave. And just like any other computer or application, it needs updating on a regular basis.
But you’ve probably forgotten to do some of those updates. You’ve gotten the alerts…and ignored them. (You know when you do that, bad things can happen, right?)
When you don’t download the necessary updates to your mental operating system, the old programs start affecting your ability to achieve results. That’s why you have to treat your brain exactly like a computer and make sure you’re doing updates on a regular basis.
Update Your Mind, Upgrade Your Results
However, you can improve your results simply by updating your mind to a new, higher, and better system.
Not possible, you say. Yes, it is.
If you commit to changing how you think and feel, you can create a new program for your brain. You can create new neural connections that become your updated computer system.
How to Update Your Mental Programming
How is that possible? Simply.
Here’s a basic explanation: When you visualize what you desire, you change your neural connections. But you can’t just visualize…you have to enter your visualization over and over again until you believe you are in that alternate reality. You have to feel as if your mental pictures or movie are more real than your outside environment, situation, or experience.
Therefore, to install an update, it’s necessary to stop allowing outside circumstances to govern what goes on inside you.
For example, if you always react negatively when your boss tells you something, you continually create neural connections—a program—that keep you reacting that way. Your programming says, “Get angry. Increase body temperature. Turn red in the face. Yell,” or something equivalent.
In this example, you allow external situations to create internal programs. And you end up feeling as if you can’t control external conditions or your reactions to them.
The key to updating your operating system is to stop focusing on what’s going on outside you and, instead, start focusing on creating a new reality inside you. Inside, see yourself reacting—responding—differently. Imagine yourself having a different experience.
The more often you think about…and feel…what it would be like to have the future you desire, the more often your brain rewires itself for that future. In the process, your internal and external experiences become more similar.
You update your system. Eventually, you’ll optimize your personal computer—YOU.
Two Step Updating Process
Here’s a two-step process for replacing your old mental program with a new one:
1. Get clear on what it is you don’t want anymore.
Don’t automatically stop thinking about the things you don’t like or want in your current environment. Intentionally consider what you don’t like and with what you want to replace those situations, thoughts, mindsets, actions, etc.
2. Focus on in visualizing and feeling what it would be like to have what you want.
Spend time visualizing and focusing on what you do want. The more you do that, the more neural connections you create, and the faster you update your brain’s operating system.
Repeat these two steps over and over again. Eventually, what happens inside will synch up with what’s happening outside.
To create more inspired results, spend time updating your mental programs on a regular basis. Create your world from the inside out.
